No more Caramel Macchiato, I guess

Unless you are living on Mars or you are a serious computer geek, you have for sure heard about the plot to blow up the planes flying from UK's Heathrow airport to US, earlier today.

I am only surprised that it took the terrorists this long to come up with the ideea. I think I was thinking about this every time I was seeing a fellow passanger brining a bottle of liquid into a plane, and that has happened quite a lot of times. I mean, any bottle can contain strong acids or nitroglycerin. For instance, one of the reasons the plot in December 2001, when a terrorist attempted to blow up a plane by lighting a slice of C4 hidden in his shoes was that C4 doesn't explode when put in contact with fire - you need a special fuse to make it go boom. Not the case with nitroglycerin, which is liquid, can easily be stored in a bottle and it will not explode unless you shake it a little bit. No fuse required. Additionally, nitroglycerin is too easy to prepare. The only real challange is to make sure it doesn't explode before it is supposed to.

I have many times brought liquids with me on board, mostly, Starbucks coffee. To my shame, each time I fly to US I treat myself with a Caramel Macchiato, grande. I know, I know, Starbucks is evil, but I can't help it. I guess it will be no more Caramel Macchiato for me in the planes, after this...
