Not all spyware is bad - says Microsoft
An interesting point of view, extracted from a quiz on spyware from Microsoft' Security At Home website:

they have made a very formal explanation supporting their point. if it's hard for security professionals to accept, i think it's just misleading for the general public (although i think not many people take this kind of quiz).
the hidden message i see there is "spyware is something you'll have do deal with."

Costin, since when do you trust Microsoft ?
I would've put at least one row of smileys :))
Or maybe there is a future product called Microsoft Spyware (not Antispyware :)))) )
Would go very well with their licensing system.

Well, I guess I trust Microsoft since I've installed Windows 2000 on my laptop, or better, since I've first used Visual C++ to compile a program.
And as long as you don't use just Linux, I guess you trust them as well. ;-)
Sure thing, my security model is layered, and I'm using other tools to secure my systems; no doubt, you are doing the same. But deep below, once you have a bit of Microsoft software on your system, you put some basic (mis?)trust on them.
