"XP Starter Edition only runs 3 programs at a time"

Unbelievably, (Windows XP Starter Edition) restricts you to running only three software applications at the same time, locks you out of creating multiple user accounts, doesn't allow basic networking, and does not include anti-virus, backup, fax or remote assistance software. Even more surprising was that they limited the amount of RAM a machine can have to 256MB and capped the hard disk space at 40GB.

The above is 100% true, with a small exception. For the Latin America, the HDD space is limited to 80 GB instead of 40. :)

PS: I wonder what is the deal with the Latin Americans - why do they have (ahem) or need bigger drives than the rest of the world?

During one of the many chats in the recent Randy's reception, this topic was actually discussed in a light-hearted manner! 8)

It was hilarious. How would the starter edition react if a couple of spyware and a keylogger are installed?
