On the Riemann hypothesis

Louis de Branges de Bourcia, a 72-years old mathematician from Purdue University, famous for his proof of the Bieberbach conjecture from 1985 claims to have solved that "Holy Grail" of prime numbers which is the Riemann Hypothesis. There is a particular quote on the Riemann Hypothesis which expresses very much the severity and the implications of such a breakthrough:

"If [the Riemann Hypothesis is] not true, then the world is a very different place. The whole structure of integers and prime numbers would be very different to what we could imagine. In a way, it would be more interesting if it were false, but it would be a disaster because we've built so much round assuming its truth."

P. Sarnak, quoted in K. Sabbagh's Dr. Riemann's Zeros (Atlantic, 2002), p.30

The proof.
